Tony Diemont

Tony has a BFA from the University of California, San Diego (1977) and graduated from the University of Wisconsin in Madison (1980) with a Master of Fine Arts in Theater Technology and Engineering.  At Madison he studied with Dennis Dorn and explored innovative materials while designing and building scenery for numerous productions.

He also worked as Head Flyman at the Spoleto Festival in Charleston, SC where he was responsible for the performance rigging applications in numerous performance venues.  He joined Barbara and Ted at the Juilliard School in New York (1980) where he served as the Stage Department’s Technical Director where he was responsible for the scenic operations and all performance rigging applications in all performance spaces.

In 1982, as a founder of PDO, Anthony brought his extensive practical and construction experience and his engineering training to bear in collaboration with Ted and Barbara’s work. Together they implemented the standards set forth and practiced by PDO on all its projects.
